Where the Error Began
Acts 20:28-31 CSB
Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood. I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Men will rise up even from your own number and distort the truth to lure the disciples into following them. Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I never stopped warning each one of you with tears.
Galatians 2:4-5 CSB
This matter arose because some false brothers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus in order to enslave us. But we did not give up and submit to these people for even a moment, so that the truth of the gospel would be preserved for you.
What were they enslaving us to? Same chapter and in perfect context.
Galatians 2:16-21 CSB
and yet because we know that a person is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we ourselves have believed in Christ Jesus. This was so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no human being will be justified. But if we ourselves are also found to be “sinners” while seeking to be justified by Christ, is Christ then a promoter of sin? Absolutely not! If I rebuild those things that I tore down, I show myself to be a lawbreaker. For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.
Galatians 5:1,7-10 CSB
For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm, then, and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery. You were running well. Who prevented you from being persuaded regarding the truth? This persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole batch of dough. I myself am persuaded in the Lord you will not accept any other view. But whoever it is that is confusing you will pay the penalty.
Matthew 13:25 CSB
But while people were sleeping, his enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat, and left.
Who is Behind These Teachings?
1 Timothy 4:1-2 CSB
Now the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 CSB
For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no great surprise if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will be according to their works.
2 Peter 2:1-3 CSB
There were indeed false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, and will bring swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved ways, and the way of truth will be maligned because of them. They will exploit you in their greed with made-up stories. Their condemnation, pronounced long ago, is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.
Revelation 12:9 CSB
So the great dragon was thrown out-the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.
1 John 5:19 CSB
We know that we are of God, and the whole world is under the sway of the evil one.
Ephesians 2:1-2 CSB
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit now working in the disobedient.
2 Corinthians 4:4 CSB
In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Ephesians 6:12 CSB
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.
Be Set Free
In the stillness of reflection, one must confront a chilling truth: Satan and his legion of deceitful spirits are ceaselessly at work. As scripture has forewarned, many are being swayed by teachings rooted in the darkest of realms, seduced by false prophets, and captivated by tales woven with malice and deception. The scriptures have provided us with clarity about the true nature of these deceptive forces and the peril they bring.
Do you not see, dear soul, the chains that bind you? Do you not feel the weight of relying on your own righteousness, walking astray while believing you are on the right path? Do you not hear the whispering lies of those masquerading as servants of light?
But fear not! For amidst this darkness, there is an eternal beacon of hope. The power of the Gospel and the unwavering love of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, can set you free from the ensnaring clutches of the evil one. Salvation does not come from within ourselves, nor from the misleading words of those who have been corrupted. Salvation is found solely in faith, in surrendering oneself to the transformative love of Jesus. It is only through His grace and mercy that we can be shielded from the devil's cunning snares and be led to the true path of righteousness.
Let this be a call, a clarion call, to recognize the forces attempting to divert your soul. Stand firm in faith, put on the full armor of God, and remember the promise of Jesus: "I have overcome the world." Therein lies your freedom and your hope. Do not be deceived; rather, embrace the salvation that is offered through faith in Jesus, the Son of God. Your eternity depends on it.
John 8:32 CSB
You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
Jesus: The Only Way
The New Covenant, established by Jesus, offers the one true path into the Kingdom of God..
This New Covenant is not a set of written laws, but rather a relationship with God, empowered by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit writes the New Covenant of LOVE on our hearts, leading us into a transformative relationship with God. This relationship is crucial for our journey as believers, as it helps us to reflect the glory of the Lord and be transformed into his image.
The enemy may try to deceive us and sow weeds among the wheat, but it is important to hold fast to the truth of the gospel message. Trusting in the Spirit to lead us to true freedom and understanding is the key. Under the New Covenant, we are no longer bound by the Old Covenant laws, but are free to live in the grace and love of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
John 14:6 CSB
Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Acts 4:12 CSB
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.
